Jamshedpur Elevated Corridor

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand

Project Overview

Jamshedpur project is a 4 lane elevated corridor of Kalimandir-Dimna Chowk-Baliguma (Jamshedpur) Section of NH-33 (New NH-18) (from km 241+940 to km 251+961) under NH(O) in the State of Jharkhand with total length of 10.021 km.

The project features 4 lane elevated viaduct of length 8280m, 3 entry-exit ramps, multiple minor bridges, box and pipe culverts and an underpasse especially made for unobstructed movement of elephants across the corridor.

Pretensioned I girders have been used for elevated viaduct for spans up to 30m and post tensioned I girders have been used for longer spans and other structures. The viaduct features 4 span continuity of 120m with girder diaphragm integrity, while ramps feature simply supported post-tensioned girders with deck continuity of 120m. In total, approx. 1580 nos. pretensioned I girders and 290 nos. post-tensioned I girders are used in the project.

Focus has been given on precasting elements to increase the pace of the project. Along with precast I girders, precast piercap and precast planks (for casting deck) have been used.
