Aizawl Arch Bridge

Aizawl, Mizoram

Project Overview

The 103 m single span Aizawl arch bridge over river Tlawng connects Aizawl city to Lengpui Airport and is visioned to be a landmark structure that will leave a lasting impression on all those entering the state of Mizoram. The bridge was proposed as a replacement to old single lane Baileys bridge.

The basket handle steel network arch bridge has been conceptualized by Force SE keeping the above objective in mind. The slender shape and aesthetics of the bridge seamlessly integrates with the adjacent environment and topography and creates a sense of awe in the onlooker. The bridge is under construction and also happens to be first basket handle network arch bridge in the country. The bridge features 14.25 m wide deck for two lane of traffic and footpath on either side.
